1- How Do I Get Started with PC IP Phone Application?

After Installation, PC IP Phone will create a shortcut on your desktop.

Double Click on the shortcut to run the program.



The log-in window will appear with two options:

 1. Sign Up for a new account if you are a first time user by entering < Activate scratch card > button.



2. Enter your PIN and click <log in> button, if you already signed up and received your PIN.

2- How Do I Sign Up for a New Account?

It is as easy as 1, 2, 3:

Click on the <Activate Scratch Card> button



2-
 Enter your name, your email and the scratch card number.



3- Click on <Activate>.

Write down the PIN number given to you by the system and save it in a safe place. You may have to enter it each time you want use the PC IP Phone; or you can save it on your PC and the system will take it upon logging in.

3- How do I refill my account?

1- Open the "Account Information" window by clicking on the <Account> button above the dial button.



2- Click on <Recharge>



3- Enter the scratch card code and click on <OK>

4- Using PC IP Phone

Once you have Logged In, the PC IP Phone screen will be active ready to make calls.
Just enter the number you wish to reach and click the <dial> button. Use either the dial pad or the keypad of your computer to dial the numbers.




Once your call is in progress the <dial> button will turn into a <hang up> button that you may use to terminate your call.

Redial And Clear Button


On the right of the main screen there are two buttons:

the Clear button represented by a Circle

and the Redial button represented by an arrow.

5- Calling Format

To place calls inside USA or Canada use the following format

· "1" plus the number you wish to reach inside USA

o Example: 1 562 809 7321
(without the spaces)

To place calls to any country Other than USA or Canada use the following format

· "011" plus the country code plus the number you wish to reach

o Example: 011
971 50 4657474 to reach a cell phone inside UAE  (without the spaces between the codes)

6- How do I use the Address Book

You can save your contacts’ phone numbers for quick use and dialing with PC IP Phone.

Click on the <Phone Book> button on the bottom right of the <dial> / <hang up> button.


· To Add a contact, enter the name and the phone number of the new contact and click on < Add Contact > button.



· To Modify an existing entry, click on the <Edit> button, the related data will be displayed in the text boxes. Apply your modifications and click on the <Save> button.

· To Delete a contact, select the contact’s name and click the <Remove> button.

· To Call a contact, select the contact’s name and click the <Call> button. Once the phone number is placed in the phone screen, click on  <DIAL>

7- How do I configure my sound options

Check out the sound options settings by clicking on the <Sound> button. Make sure that you have chosen the right sound card and microphone device in case you have more than one, before placing your call. Once a call is in progress, such settings cannot be edited.


           


For best voice quality, in your windows volume control

· Make sure to remove the checkmarks of boosting and/or Gain Control (GC) options from your recording settings.

8- Common Problems

Q. I can successfully log in but when I put a number to dial I get “connecting to server … “ message and the number is never dialed.

A.

· If the message stays “please wait …” for a long time, then make sure that you are able to make voice calls from your network. Contact your network administrator or ISP provider.



· If the message becomes “calling number …” and stays like this for a long period of time, make sure the number you entered is valid.


Q. When I dial a number I get “calling number …” message for a few seconds and then I get disconnected automatically

A. Make sure you have selected the right recording and playback devices in your sound options.

9- Phone to Phone Call

PC IP PHONE is proud to provide his users by a very special feature rare in PC to Phone world which is "Phone to Phone" Calling.

  • Click on <Phone to Phone> button.

  • Enter your phone number (where to receive the call)

  • Enter the Destination phone number (target)

  • Click on <Make Call> button.

Within seconds, your phone will ring, pick up the handset and wait for about 10 seconds., your call will start ringing at the destination.

Tip: If you’re connected to the internet through a dial-up modem and wish to receive the call on the same phone line you’re using, disconnect the internet connection immediately after clicking on the <make call> button.

Important Notice: Phone to Phone calls are more expensive than PC to Phone calls. The cost per minute is calculated by adding the Origination Country Rate (your phone number) to the Termination Country Rate (The Destination Number).

Example:
I am using PC IP PHONE from my office desk at Jeddah and wish to call Beirut Regular Line, how much will be the rate/min?
 - The rate/min = Jeddah rate (0.08$) + Lebanon rate (0.18) = 0.26$
